Feminism: Then and Now

The photograph, taken in the 1960s, shows a feminism demonstration where women burned their bras in protest against male control. The article describes a (biased) description of modern feminism. The actions of feminists today seem more active than just burning bras. According to the article, feminists are very involved in the justice system. They are getting male sexual predators prosecuted and suing employers for discrimination. Contrary to the opinions of the author, this is an improvement in their tactics. Feminists have gained significant ground in the past fifty years, both legally and socially. Feminism has changed drastically in the past fifty years, as evidenced by these two outlets of media.

  1. Consider why the photo was taken without the burning bras in it. Is the fire left out purposefully? Could it demonstrate that while woman are trying to take a stand against their male counterparts, woman are still inferior and can not do things males can, such keep an open fire?

  2. It would be interesting if you conjectured where the feminist movement is heading in the future.

  3. Be careful of the tone of your post, it is very STRONG in its opposition of the article. While you may disagree with the article on a personal level, you can still invalidate its opinions respectfully. In the current state of your post, anyone who mildly agrees with some of the article's views would be heavily offended by your post.
